BREAKING NEWS: Calhoun County Tag Office to reopen May 4

Update April 30, 2020:  The Calhoun County Commissioner of Licenses Barry E. Robertson announces that the Calhoun County license offices in Anniston and Alexandria will reopen to the public at 8:00 a.m. May 4, 2020.

The hours of operation in the Anniston office will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with social distancing procedures in place.  The office will not close for lunch, as per normal business operations.  Vehicle inspections for out of state registrations will be done at the Anniston location.

The Alexandria office will be open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with social distancing procedures in place.  The office will not close for lunch.

The Alvin E. Gibbs Annex in Piedmont is currently closed due to ongoing safety improvements and renovations.  We will reopen May 11, 2020.

The Alabama Department of Revenue has granted an extension of time for obtaining March and April 2020 vehicle registrations through May 15, 2020. The Calhoun County Commissioner of Licenses continues to encourage residents to utilize available county electronic services for information regarding motor vehicles, business licenses, driver’s licenses, boat registrations, hunting and fishing licenses and manufactured homes by visiting calhouncountyal.org.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in Jacksonville remains closed until further notice. For questions regarding driver licenses and driver license renewal, please visit their website at www.alea.gov
