Jacksonville State University, after polling local residents and alumni, announced their new license plate design, and after much ado, it is finally available for ordering! Calhoun County residents and alumni will be able to order their newly designed JSU plate in December 2020. Residents who already have the current license plate design will be issued a new license plate at the time of their renewal in 2021. The new design change applies to the alumni J Tags as well.
The license plates sell for an additional fee of $50.00 for pre-numbered plates, and personalized tag can be ordered for no additional charge above the $50.00.
The net proceeds are distributed to the general scholarship funds for scholarship grants to Alabama resident students only. These fees represent a charitable contribution from the purchaser to the general scholarship fund, which is a tax-deductible amount.
