Is there any documentation required to be presented by the registrant prior to purchasing this plate? Yes. A DD214 indicating the registrant is a recipient of the Bronze Star must be presented to the license plate issuing official.

The “Application for Disability Access Parking Privileges” must be provided to obtain the disability access license plate.

What registration fees are associated with the purchase of this license plate? $15.00- $105.00 depending on the type of vehicle being registered.

Additional fees: $25.00 annually. $5.00 when metal plate is issued.

What type of vehicles may this plate be displayed upon? Private passenger automobiles, pickup trucks, motorcycles, and pleasure motor vehicles (i.e., recreational vehicles) not exceeding 12,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.

How are the net proceeds from the purchase of this plate distributed? The net proceeds of the $25.00 will be distributed to the Alabama Veterans’ Assistance Fund in the State Treasury. The net proceeds of the $5 shall be distributed to the Department of Revenue.
